Through the messages from keynote speaker Manny Scott, faculty worked to create applied learning projects for their students.

The earner of this badge participated in the webinar Voces from the Past: Sor Juana and New Imaginings, sponsored by the State University System of New York (SUNY), the Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI), and the Latin American Center for Academic Success and Achievement at NCC (La Casa). The event highlighted the works of this renowned Mexican woman as a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month 2023.

This earner of this badge attended a mini version of Erin Gruwell and the Freedom Writers’ presentation of their Teachers’ Institute at the Freedom Writers’ Foundation in California, with support from the NCC Foundation, Office of Student Activities, and the Applied Learning and Faculty Development Committees of the Academic Senate. The goals of the interactive conference were to provide teachers with strategies for student success, student engagement and to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
